A powerful application of the state of Focused Passion is mental and emotional rehearsal. Rehearsing it in your mind/spirit/heart. I think the best line I ever heard on the subject I believe came from the man I think is the greatest golfer of all time.

Jack Nicklaus was asked about the secret to his incredible success, and he said, “I have never hit a golf ball, without first seeing it go into the hole. You never see a great golfer just walk up to a golf ball and hit it. Every great golfer walks up near the golf ball imagines hitting it and then walks up to it and hits it. When you actually hit the golf ball you just let yourself hit it.

You actually play the shot on auto-pilot, without thought just as you have rehearsed it. Your mind/spirit/heart knows just how to do it exactly right. You have imagined everything about this success. What it would look like, sound like, and most of all what it would feel like. Now do it. Someone asked Yogi Berra what he thought of when he hit the baseball, and Yogi so eloquently replied, “I can't think and hit the baseball at the same time.”

If you want to use Alpha to become more prosperous. (And why not? You deserve it). You understand that prosperity is clearly a consciousness. The proof is, if you take a person with “poverty consciousness”, you know, the ones that are always broke, always in debt, always late with their bills. Take a person like this and give them a lot of money. What happens is that they blow it all and find themselves deeper in debt than they were when they started. On the other hand, if you take a person with “prosperity consciousness” and strip them of every penny, what happens is, they figure out a way to get it all back again. It's clearly a consciousness. The vast majority of people have neither, most people have “break even consciousness”.
To create “prosperity consciousness” you close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine your heart drifting up into your head. Imagine you are more prosperous. Imagine that you've got a lot of discretionary income to give to causes that you believe in. Imagine that the future is secure, and the kids educations are paid for. Imagine yourself driving that new car or relaxing in that beautiful vacation home or whatever best symbolizes prosperity. Make it seem as real as you can evoking as much passion as possible.

This is the key. imagine what you want, as if you have already got it, imagine it over and over again, and by far most important, IMAGINE DOING IT WITH GREAT PASSION!!

Most students suffer from Test Taking Anxiety at least some of the time. Some suffer every time. A lot of this performance anxiety is a direct response to the natural and normal fear of the unknown. Mental rehearsal (imagining in your mind/spirit/heart taking this test) is very important in creating familiarity and overcoming this fear. If you're going into the Alpha Brainwave State to prepare yourself to do great on a test, you close your eyes and you go to your peaceful place as the doorway into Alpha and then imagine yourself waking up in the morning thinking, “Today is my test, and I am ready.”
Imagine yourself getting up, going to school, and sitting down at your desk. Imagine your teacher passing out the test, and the all of a sudden you are in a different place in the classroom, invisible, watching yourself taking the test.

You are to far away to see what questions the teacher is asking, and to far away to see what answers you are writing, but what you can see, from your invisible vantage point, what you can see, is the smile on your face and the gleam in your eye, and the way the pen is just moving so confidently down the page. You know what you look like when you are doing great, and that is exactly what you look like. Imagine finishing the test, putting down your pen and watch yourself nodding and smiling as you check to see that all your answers are correct. The bell rings and you walk out the door, and then you imagine that it is instantly the next class day. You imagine walking back into the classroom, imagine the teacher passes back the corrected exams, imagine you see a big red “A” on top of yours, and you get very very excited.

Focus brings to bear the power of the conscious mind, and Passion brings to bear the power of the subconscious mind. When the two minds come together in harmony, something magical happens. They create a third mind; a higher consciousness. This is literally a second level of thinking. With Focused Passion, all the power is in the second level of thinking. You get to think about your individual thoughts and feelings, and choose to empower the positive ones, and choose to release the negative ones. In this way you come to enjoy all of your thoughts and all of your feelings. Do this and you will discover that there is a side effect. It is called happiness. Happiness is not about your particular circumstances. Happiness is not about your initial thoughts. Happiness comes from what you think, about what you think.

Here is a simple and powerful technique for creating the state of Focused Passion. Focus comes when you move away from stress, just a little of the way toward sleep. Passion comes when you enjoy what you are doing.

Focus Passion is moving from divided attention (multi-tasking) to paying attention to just one special thing. Do this and you slow down your mind. You move toward stress when you feel endangered. To move into Focused Passion you need to feel safe.

Close your eyes.

Most of the input that comes in through your five senses comes in through your eyes. Close your eyes and you slow down your mind. It’s the first thing you do when you want to fall asleep. Focused Passion can be reached with your eyes open, but closing your eyes cuts out many of the potential distractions.

Take a deep breath and imagine that you are in a very safe and peaceful place.

By making this safe place, a place that you love to be, you add passion to your state of focus. When you feel stressed you tighten your muscles and hold your breath. Release your muscle tension and let go of your breath and you will begin to feel safe. Choose this place with your intuition. Let it be the first safe place that comes in to your mind. Imagine that you can see this place, or that you can hear the surrounding sounds. Simply pretend and get the feeling that you are there. If your mind goes off to a different place, just notice this and then bring yourself back to your first place. Always return to this same place each time you wish to re-create this state of Focused Passion.

With Focused Passion you can solve the only two problems that you face. One problem is that you know what you want, but you don’t know how to get it, and the only other problem is that you don’t know what you want.

When you don’t know what you want, you go to your place of Focused Passion and you ask. Then you listen for the answer. This is called meditation, introspection, reflection, or prayer. If you believe in a higher power then you might believe that the answer comes through you. If you don’t believe in a higher power then you might believe that the answer comes from you. Either way the process is the same. You ask, and then you listen for the answer.

If you do know what you want, then you tell. You imagine what you do want, as if you already have it, over and over again, with GREAT PASSION! This is called mental programming, visualization, self-hypnosis, or auto-suggestion. It is an application of the amazingly powerful law of attraction.
